Viking Age inspired treasure bead festoons are back! These are designed for dual wear: as a bold statement necklace with the S-hook, or to hang from the front brooches on the hangerok or apron-dress of feminine Norse garb of the Viking Age.
More than 90% of the beads for this necklace are intentional replicas of historical beads, obtained from Grimfrost and Heart of Oak Crafts. A small handful are what I call accidental replicas-- mass produced lampwork beads that basically reproduced period beads without meaning to. Many of these replicas are types found throughout the Viking Age, but I have not taken care to ensure that the beads all trace back to one specific location or date.
This necklace is heavy on the yellow and red, with pops of black or blue at irregular intervals. It will contrast well most colors of garb. The beads are strung on heavy duty beading wire and attached to silver-plated closed rings about 3/8" in diameter. The length including the rings is about 18 3/8". Worn as a necklace, it's about 19".
