Madder root, an alum mordant, and iron after-dipping has produced this unusual mix of rust, chocolate brown, and purple colors (100 yard hanks). It puts me in mind of colors in the sky just before dawn or after dusk.

This 2-ply thread can be used for to work various types of embroidery (plies NOT separable as with DMC or similar!), weaving narrow goods, eg, tablet weaving, or tapestry, at approx. 30 ends per inch, and also for braiding techniques such as fingerloop or lucet, and other historical and modern fiber arts.
