Spiral Hoop Smaragdus Earrings Inspired by Ancient Artifacts

These earrings feature a handmade, 18 gauge, gold plated spiral earring hoop patterned after a style said to be Romano-British with a barrel shaped dark green gemstone dangle, strongly resembling historical styles. The Romans would have called the stone smaragdus; today we'd call it deep green aventurine. Unlike modern earring designs, these are inserted through the back of the ear rather than the front. They are just about 1 3/8" from top of hoop to bottom of dangle.
