Once upon a time, there was an auction house offering this unique pair of spiral hoop earrings with attached bead dangles, said to be from the Roman Empire. I've never seen other Roman earrings with that decorative spiral, but it's so cool that we've run with it and replicated it and married it with various components that do resemble ancient Roman jewelry. It's maybe not for living history, but some of the feel is there. Here the handmade spiral hoop is combined with a stamped brass wreath connector from which dangle three freshwater pearls. Overall length about 1 7/8".
