Purple & Pink Viking Treasure Bead Festoon Necklace with Foiled Glass, Lampwork, Amethyst - Norse SCA Medieval LARP

Viking Age inspired treasure bead festoons are back! These are designed to wear as necklaces or to hang from the front brooches that hold together the straps of their hangerok or apron-dress of high status, if somewhat fanciful, feminine Norse garb of the Viking Age.

These give the general look of such festoons, with a little more of a modern color scheme. Some beads are what I call accidental replicas-- mass produced lampwork beads that weren't trying to reproduce Viking Age beads but have very nearly done it anyway. Some beads are more peri-oid then period. The result are festoons that are a good choice for those that do not want to, need to, or have the ability to purchase or make true replica beads from a specific date and location.

The beads are strung on heavy duty beading wire and attached to gold-plated closed rings that can connect to the S-hook clasp or to a pair of Viking style brooches. Four foiled glass beads, two pale pink rose quartz beads, and three different purple amethyst gemstone beads in early-period faceted styles act as accents. The main body is formed by a collection of monochrome, swirly, and bumpy decorated beads in shades of purple and pink. Worn as a necklace it measures about 16" and as a festoon it will span about 15 1/2".
