This thread is a strong orange madder-dyed wool thread. It is available in 100 yard hanks. This 2-ply thread can be used for weaving narrow goods (eg, tablet weaving) or tapestry at approx. 30 ends per inch), to work various types of embroidery (plies NOT separable as with DMC or similar!), for braiding techniques such as fingerloop or lucet, and other historical and modern fiber arts.

Madder is best known as a red dye, but different techniques will also yield orange. It has very good lightfastness and washfastness as compared to most other sources of similar colors.
