PRICING IS PER YARD.
Madder root. Weld plant tops. Two dyes of extremely ancient use that, when properly combined, make beautiful shades of orange straight out of history. Combined with an alum mordant, the color produced is one of the most wash-fast and light-fast natural orange hues out there-- though they will fade eventually in the sun! The yellow dye compounds will fade before the reds from the madder, so with a lot of exposure to light, these ribbons will eventually become more reddish in hue.
All naturally hand dyed items tend to have some variation in tone. These ribbons are a more variegated than the rest that I sell. Please study the photos to see how much the shade/hue can vary (or even request more). If absolute even-ness of tone is essential to you, then these are not the best for your project. If you enjoy a bit of tone-on-tone mottling these will work well for you!
PRICING IS PER YARD. THIS LISTING IS FOR THE WIDER, MORE ORANGE RIBBON SHOWN. IF YOU WANT THE NARROWER PINKISH RIBBON, PLEASE SEE THIS LISTING: https://www.etsy.com/listing/516166377/naturally-dyed-salmon-pink-100-silk
