Pricing is per yard. These eye-catching ribbons are dyed with cochineal, a scale insect cultivated for its brilliant dye for millennia in the Americas. It's a cool-toned crimson red that nearly glows in the sun. The ribbons are tabby woven to width, 24mm wide (juuuuuuust shy of an inch!) and make excellent trim for historical garments or modern slow fashion. The color from this dye is a little less light resistant than madder root red, but more light resistant than many cheap synthetic reds on the market!
Please note that the spool size on silk ribbons is relatively small; therefore your order may come in multiple cuts. When multiple cuts are necessary, we will give you a little extra for piecing. Please contact us first if you are hoping for all one cut or if you need a larger quantity than shown as we likely can dye to order (email us at thegoldenschelle at gmail dot com).
The Golden Schelle is on hiatus in order to focus on finishing up our last few commissions and then completely revamp our inventory and website. We are closed to new orders at this time.
