Looped "Leafy" Bracelet or Armlet Inspired by Ancient Artifacts

The looped lobes of this bracelet resemble alternating leaves on a vine or branch. Made of 14 gauge brass wire, it takes inspiration from several ancient artifacts made from various copper alloys and precious metals, blending elements of them into a conjectural, in-between style. A similar bracelet with fewer lobes was found in the UK in a 10th century context. Finger rings with lobes in this style were first found in Romano-British contexts (see our version here!), and gradually spread eastwards, being found in Viking Age contexts as well. The number of lobes varied; some of them had many lobes like our bracelet does. (Big thank to Louis Garcia of Strongford Arts for research assistance!)

Two sizes are currently available:
Medium: Approx. 9" around
Large: Approx 10" around

To wear as a bangle, your wrist should be about 2-2 1/2" smaller than the bracelet so that your hand will fit through. If you can pass these over your elbow, you may be able to wear these around your upper arm. Please measure yourself to make sure these will fit. If you need a different size, email us at thegoldenschelle@gmail.com for a custom commission.
