This thread has been dyed a light olive green with weld plant (Reseda luteola) and an iron mordant. With an iron mordant, colors will not be as bright or saturated, but they will be extra fast to light and washing. Both weld and iron have been in use for millennia for dyeing.

This 2-ply thread can be used for to work various types of embroidery (plies NOT separable as with DMC or similar!), weaving narrow goods, eg, tablet weaving, or tapestry, at approx. 30 ends per inch, and also for braiding techniques such as fingerloop or lucet, and other historical and modern fiber arts.
