For centuries, if not millennia, blues from Indigofera tinctoria were the best available and most prized in large swaths of the world. We've used this plant dye to create a pleasing sky blue on wool. 

This 2-ply thread can be used for to work various types of embroidery (plies NOT separable as with DMC or similar!), weaving narrow goods, eg, tablet weaving, or tapestry, at approx. 30 ends per inch, and also for braiding techniques such as fingerloop or lucet, and other historical and modern fiber arts.
