This yarn has been naturally dyed to a warm gold that evokes the border between summer and autumn using the weld plant and lights up in the sun. This is another Eurasian plant dye of ancient provenance, well known far before the rise of the Roman Empire. Reseda luteola is the natural yellow with the best lightfastness known to me, but it will fade faster than madder root. Fastness to washing is excellent. Alum mordant.

Base yarn: worsted weight wool, approx 224 yards to the 100 gram hank. From the manufacturer: "Knitting Gauge: 4.5 - 5 sts = 1" on #6 - 9 needles (4.0mm-5.5mm). Crochet Gauge: 11–14 sc = 4'' on I - K hooks (5.5 mm-6.5 mm)"
