An extremely ancient apotropaic symbol, the "evil eye" talisman is still embedded in many cultures. The base glass is a transparent, deep blue with contrasting layers of opaque glass forming the eyes. The main pendant is about 1 1/4" tall and the evil eye beads are about 3/8" in diameter. The beads have two eyes apiece, layering in quintuple protection. Clear quartz, aka rock crystal, beads flank the pendant. They are roughly cut into a sort of faceted rectangle, an ancient cut used by Romans and Vikings that was one of the first faceted cuts to be mastered.
