We've spent the past few days soaking in the particular beauty of ancient times, and created a group of jewelry pieces that would blend right in to the scenery of ancient Egypt, Greece, or Rome. The choice of stones, the cuts of the beads, the way the gems are paired with gold-tone metal are chosen to evoke a set of times and places that shared a certain aesthetic.

This piece marries long, rectangular carnelian beads with seven large, decorated brass bicone beads at center front and smaller brass beads towards the sides and back. It closes with a simple hook clasp, and measures about 17 inches long. Carnelian was a common stone in ancient Egyptian jewelry, often paired with gold and lapis lazuli. Due to its relative commonness, it's appropriate for much of the ancient world. It's specifically appropriate for ancient Greece and Rome through the Empire. It's extremely versatile and can also be worn with a range of contemporary attire, bringing in fiery earth energy. Consider it your own modern treasure.
