This thread has been dyed a medium green with a blue undertone using Phragmites tops and an alum mordant. Because dyeing with this plant exists only on a small scale folk basis, not a lot is known about how fast the color is to light or washing.

This 2-ply thread can be used for to work various types of embroidery (plies NOT separable as with DMC or similar!), weaving narrow goods, eg, tablet weaving, or tapestry, at approx. 30 ends per inch, and also for braiding techniques such as fingerloop or lucet, and other historical and modern fiber arts.
