Walnut hull and an iron mordant have been used to create this medium ash brown shade on wool yarn.  It is an excellent choice for hair and skin tones when depicting humans in embroidery and tapestry! Hank size is 25 yards.

This 2-ply thread can be used for to work various types of embroidery (plies NOT separable as with DMC or similar!), weaving narrow goods, eg, tablet weaving, or tapestry, at approx. 30 ends per inch, and also for braiding techniques such as fingerloop or lucet, and other historical and modern fiber arts.
