In my research on ancient Roman jewelry, I came across an image from an auction house of these unique earrings with spirals on the hoop, with long dangles and a blue glass bead on the end. They were attributed to the 2nd century AD and called Roman, but I've never seen another set like them. What they are for sure is captivating, and we immediately set out to create our own versions of these gorgeous earrings.
All parts of these earrings are handmade. The earwires are thicker than most modern earrings, for durability and comfort. The diameter of the hoop is about 3/4" and the hand-cut amethysts are approx. 1/2" long by 1/4" wide. The amethysts in this pair are a little more intensely colored and light up glowing purple when the light hits.
The Golden Schelle is on hiatus in order to focus on finishing up our last few commissions and then completely revamp our inventory and website. We are closed to new orders at this time.
