These earrings feature a handmade, 18 gauge, gold plated earring hoop patterned after a style seen in Roman earrings plus a dangle with a hand cut amethyst bead drop, strongly resembling historical styles. Unlike modern earring designs, these are inserted through the back of the ear rather than the front. They are just under 1 1/4" from top of hoop to bottom of dangle.
